Much time we have been conformists, and let corporations like Barrick Gold act, that with their promises of employment and growing have become owners of soils, mountains, rivers, minerals, etc. And if this wasn't enough, once they have extracted the wealth of the countries, they live, leaving just destruction and pollution. Moreover, they have in favor a permissive legislation, full of the famous FTAs (Free Trade Agreement).
The mining project Pascua-Lama, enframed in the Chilean-Argentinean Agreement on Mining Complementation, that will let 8,500 unemployed, illness –due to the utilization of cyanide and mercury- and the liberation of arsenic from the mountains; provoke the death of the Diaguita people, make the stop of agriculture for hundreds of years, take the sovereignty of the territory, and won't pay taxes for what they still.
There are many things wrong in Chile and around the world.
And the direct cause of this is the neoliberal logic that spreads with globalization, expressing its dictatorial yoke in the uncontrolled acts of the transnationals. This has converted wealth, work, education, housing, not in citizenship rights, but in mere buying-selling products in the free market. Converting us in slaves in democracy. WE HAVE TO REBEL!

Because we don't want this continue, is that The Anti Pascua-Lama Citizen Movement calls on all people, social movements, NGOs, trade unions, from Chile and the rest of the world to move, support, join, and spread this day. Because we are capable to build better and worthy countries for the future generations, respecting our planet, is that we won't remain accepting, standing these transnationals sack us.
Let's demonstrate we won't remain conforming, one month from today, the 8th of July, and the next second Saturdays of each month, and found the Day against the Transnational and Pascua-Lama
For the transnational and environmental destruction is the same thing!
For we don't want neither sacking of our wealth nor pollution!
